AGED GARLIC EXTRACT

KYOLIC AGED GARLIC EXTRACT is a
remarkable nutritional supplement that I’ve taken for almost 35
years. I consider it one of my personal bodyguards -- helping
to keep me healthy, vigorous, and full of life. Garlic
has been on the breath of the physically fit, the long-lived, and the
widely avoided for over 5,000 years. It has taken the medical profession
that long to finally show some humility to this wonderful herb—garlic.
Ancient civilization had to rely on Mother Nature’s pharmacy to
fight the ills of horrendous hygiene and sanitation. They found that garlic
worked miraculously in combating infections, dysentery, coughs, wounds,
respiratory and stomach ailments -- even the plague. Garlic’s reputation
as the ultimate healer was handed down through the centuries—because
it worked!
Garlic is one of my all-time favorite superfoods. Herbalists and folk
healers have used garlic to treat a myriad of diseases for thousands of
years and it has been intensively studied in recent years, with hundreds
of scientific papers published in medical journals since the mid 1980’s.
It is scrumptious to use in food preparation and I always have several
bulbs planted in my herb garden so I have fresh garlic greens to use.
But I must say that due to my extensive traveling schedule, the garlic
that I never leave home without is Kyolic® Aged Garlic Extract™.

Today garlic faces new challenges in health care and is prepared to meet

be found in AGE. They are: Carboline, fructosol arginine, S-allyl-mercapto
cysteine (SAMC), F-4 protein and S-allyl-cysteine (SAC). These salutary
compounds contained in the extract are responsible for hundreds of scientific
studies being conducted by major universities and cancer centers worldwide.
The results are showing that Aged Garlic Extract protects and enhances
the health of the cells in the lungs, liver, heart, brain, breast, colon,
stomach, prostate, bladder and the skin.
Most garlic supplements state that their products are standardized with
allicin. Not true. No garlic supplement has any standardized allicin (proven
in a major court trial). In a report published in the American Journal
of Nutrition, researchers concluded, “allicin is only a transient
constituent of garlic preparation and does not pass through the intestines
or enter the bloodstream. No allicin is absorbed from the gut into the
liver. Injected allicin is rapidly destroyed in the blood.” Put
simply, allicin is not the reason garlic is so effective.
On the other hand, the aged garlic has proven to be effective in over
460 studies, far more than all 40 other garlic supplements
combined. Solid scientific research proves Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract
works for the prevention and treatment of most of our degenerative diseases
-- and it literally works wonders! I have perused most of these garlic
studies and because I believe in science, not science fiction, I am hoping
that other garlic supplement manufacturers will step up to the plate and
spend their money on their own research to bring credibility to this precious
God-given gift -- GARLIC.
Well-documented studies from major medical research centers worldwide
have proven aged garlic extract to be effective in its ability to lower
the risk of cancer, heart disease, respiratory ailments, immune cell damage,
AIDS, and fatigue -- as well as being a marvelous chealator of heavy metals
(mercury, aluminum, lead, etc.) that compromise our immune system .
Health disease is the number one killer and more women die of heart disease
than men, 52% to 48%. Dr. Matthew Budoff, at the UCLA Medical Center,
recently reported a study indicating that taking just one teaspoon of
liquid garlic extract might save your life, especially if you are also
taking a statin drug to lower cholesterol. This research was a year long,
double-blind study and the results showed that Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract:
1. Significantly slowed plaque formation (up to 70%).
2. Increased good cholesterol (HDL) -- no drug on the market can do this.
3. Decreased oxidized LDL (major risk factor for heart disease)
4. Reduced triglycerides (fat in the blood).
5. Detoxified and lowered homocysteine (only AGE has a U.S. Patent for
lowering homocysteine) which is a major risk factor for heart disease.
6. Offers antioxidant cell protection (only AGE is an antioxidant) --
all other forms of garlic are oxidizers.
Additionally, one of the main reasons I am so confident in taking Kyolic
is because of the ongoing research being currently conducted as well as
studies which will be released in the near future. I am looking forward
to two important studies on Kyolic that should be announced by the end
of the year -- one on stomach cancer and the other on Type II Diabetes.
At the Experimental Biology 2004 Conference, held in Washington, DC (April
17-21), there was an announcement of a double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled
study of the safety of using Aged Garlic Extract for patients on oral
anticoagulation (Coumadin) therapy. The study concluded that AGE “poses
no serious hemorrhagic risk for patients on oral anticoagulation (Coumadin)
therapy.” In the past, it was believed that Kyolic could not be
taken along with anti-coagulants because of the blood thinning properties
of garlic.
Does all this scientific information on aged garlic extract mean that
other forms of garlic have no health benefits? Of course not. There are
few things more enticing in the kitchen than adding fresh chopped or minced
garlic to a fresh dressing to drizzle over a colorful garden salad or
creating recipes using tantalizing garlic. There is nothing wrong in using
garlic oil and/or taking powdered supplements -- these are all good ways
of getting some of garlic’s healthy benefits.
